The latest Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll update has gone live. Games Workshop's continuing support for the fantasy miniatures game has been well documented. They have provided a roadmap for updates regarding Age of Sigmar's third edition, as well as ongoing battleboxes and battletomes for its various armies. But this battlescroll does address some balance issues, particularly when it comes to a certain universal warscroll and the rampaging Beasts of Chaos.

The Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll

In an official Warhammer Community post, Games Workshop goes into further detail about the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll. First, the post discusses the different ways that Games Workshop addresses changes to their massively complex game. This includes looking at underutilized resources and making adjustments as well as looking at external sources like reported win rates and army lists to keep things interesting.

With this chart in mind, some of the other rules changes make sense.

With this in mind the biggest change in the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll is aimed at The Krondspine Incarnate of Ghur. This universal warscroll is only found in about 12.1% of army lists, but the average win rate of those lists were 58%. Because of this, the Incarnate's recruitment point cost has increased by 80 for a grand total of 480. Several other warscrolls were adjusted as well, including universal ones like Chronomatic Cogs, and ones used by the Cities of Sigmar, Soulblight Gravelords, Skaven, and Seraphon armies.

Finally, the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll does address several major armies. The Maggotkin of Nurgle, Beasts of Chaos, Sons of Bahemat, Bonesplitterz, and Seraphon armies have, according to data taken between August and October of 2022, have win rates between 58% and 61%, which is out of Games Workshop's preferred margins of 45% and 55%. Because of this, certain mechanics and abilities have been tweaked. The Beasts of Chaos' Primal Roar monstrous rampage generates few primordial call points for Beasts of Chaos and certain units' recruitment costs have increased across the board. The only exception to this is the Sons of Bahemat since their newest battletome was just recently released. You will be able to view these changes on the app in the near future.
