Hello, TechRaptor readers. Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming this past week!
First up is Corvus Belli releasing a quick article on creating scratchbuiilt terrain for Infinity. This article focuses on creating a group of generic terminals able to be used for a wide variety of in-game terrain and markers using what amounts to random bits and bobs with some generic plasticard, wire, and assorted modeling bits.
Next up is Games Workshop continuing with their Fyreslayers releases with the Battlesmith and Grimwraith Berzerker to help fill out the model range. A set of repackaged and rebased Khorne demons complete with round bases. Pre-orders for the first book in what should be a series of Grand Alliance books, this time focused on the various Chaos factions, are now available. This book offers lore and background for all of the various Chaos factions, which should provide some much needed information on the lesser known Age of Sigmar factions like the Beastmen and the forces of Slaanesh.
Games Workshop has also posted a job listing on their website for a rules writer. The listing is for a position at their company headquarters in Nottingham, England (obviously) and states the job will be writing rules for both Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar, along with board games like Betrayal at Calth. The posting will be up until February 7th, so if you think you can do a better job with the game rules than the current batch of writers, feel free to apply.
Mantic Games recently released information on their upcoming game based on the widely-acclaimed comic book and TV show The Walking Dead. Based on the information released, the game looks to be somewhere between a traditional board game and a wargame, a bit in the same vein as games like Betrayal at Calth. An interview with Skybound to go into more detail about the game is also available. There is currently no word as to Lori's usefulness or Carl's location; hopefully this information will soon be released.
And finally, badge registration for Gen Con 2016 is now open! A 4-day badge will cost $90USD, with single day passes running $55 USD. A Trade Day badge is currently listed at $120 USD, and the VIG Companion badge will cost a whopping $150 USD. Be sure to get your badges quickly before they run out!
