Hello, TechRaptor readers. Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming this past week!

First up is a couple news bits from Games Workshop. Blood Bowl will be returning to Warhammer World on May 21st with the XXXXXX League Cup, a weekend-long tournament complete with prizes! Not only will there be prizes awarded for gameplay, but also for best painted miniatures and specific in-game achievements. Tickets go on sale March 7th.

Games Workshop proper also announced the release of the next Realmgate Wars book, Balance of Power. This book will continue the overall storyline of the Realmgate Wars and include new Time of War rules, new battleplans, and a whopping forty-one warscrolls. According to the description, this book will also start to bring in factions from the Death Grand Alliance alongside Order and Chaos. The book is currently available for pre-order and will be available in stores February 6th.

Mantic Games also has several announcements this week. First up is the announcement of their Kickstarter for The Walking Dead: All Out War game. Based on the wildly popular comic book of the same name, the game will be a skirmish-level mix between board game and traditional wargame. The campaign has raised over $132,000 USD of its original $50,000 goal and currently has 28 days left.

The company also announced pre-orders for the Dreadball Challenge Cup, an expansion to their futuristic sports game Dreadball. The expansion comes with a rulebook for playing championship games, several counters and accessories, and 4 MVP models as well. The expansion is currently available for pre-order and will be shipping soon.

Knight Models recently announced via their Facebook page their latest miniature game set in the Marvel Comic Universe named… Marvel Universe Miniature Game. (Apparently their writer in charge of naming things is on vacation). The initial release will feature 3 factions: X-Men, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Each faction set will come with 4 white metal models at release, along with a quick start rulebook and unit cards. No release date has currently been set.

European terrain maker Tabletop World recently announced the start of their annual painting competition. Entry submissions begin today (February 1st) and will last until April 1st. The top 3 winners will receive vouchers worth anywhere from 200 Euros to 500 Euros available to spend at their store, while all other contestants will get a 20% discount on their next order. Since anyone who submits an entry is guaranteed to get something at least, it’s worth checking out and possibly entering.

And finally, Corvus Belli recently announced the next miniature for release, the PanOceania Nisse Hacker, via the MayaCast podcast. The Svalarheima Nisse unit is a staple of PanOceania and is also featured in the Operation: Icestorm starter set. The expansion of Nisse models also hints at a possible PanOceania sectorial army list coming with the release of the Human Sphere N3 expansion book later this year.
