Fans of tabletop gaming are most likely aware of the board game Villainous. It started as an asymmetrical board game where 2-6 players took on the role of various iconic Disney villains and took turns trying to fulfill their own unique win conditions while messing with their competing conspirators. It received several expansions as well as spin-off game based on the Marvel Universe. Now, publisher Ravensburger have announced another installment based on a galaxy far far away: Star Wars Villainous.

The announcement for Star Wars Villainous came courtesy of ComicBook. Officially titled Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side, the game will let you play as several of the most iconic villains in the Star Wars universe. You can play as Darth Vader, Asajj Ventress, Kylo Ren, Moff Gideon, or General Grievous. Like other Villainous games, each of these characters have their own unique goals and schemes. Darth Vader must turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side of the force. General Grievous must collect a certain number of lightsabers from fallen jedi, and Moff Gideon must capture the adorable Grogu for his own nefarious ends.

But Star Wars Villainous doesn't just add dark side villains to the mix either. Other changes to the familiar Villainous formula include the introduction of Vehicles. These can give players additional actions or options during their turn. Friendly vehicles can obtained by spending Ambition (which has replaced Power) or you can call forth hostile vehicles against your enemies by using Fate cards. This does mean that this version of the game is standalone; no matching of wits with Kylo Ren and Ultron here. However, given the support of the variations of this game like Despicable Plots as well as Marvel Villainous' recently announced Mischief and Malice, this will be getting expansions going forward.

Star Wars Villainous officially releases to retail stores in August with the MSRP of $29.99
