Fans of Z-Man Games' Love Letter are in for an unexpected spin-off. It is a new card game set in the universe of Star Wars, a series publisher Asmodee are quite familiar with, and focusing on the stronghold of notorious space slug and crime lord, Jabba The Hutt.
The news of this Star Wars Jabba's Palace game came from an update on Asmodee's web store. Officially titled Jabba's Palace - A Love Letter Game, the description goes as follows:
"The home of the galaxy’s most notorious gangster is a place of danger and deception. Its vile denizens thrive within, but the members of the Rebel Alliance have their own plans. Based on the beloved card game and set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Jabba’s Palace - A Love Letter Game retains the simple and fun mechanics of the original as you utilize the talents of iconic characters from Return of the Jedi."

The description continues, explaining the gameplay. Players take turns drawing and playing cards. These include iconic Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa as well as servants and associates of Jabba like Bib Fortuna, Salacious Crumb. and Boba Fett. Players must use these different cards and abilities to outwit and outpace one another. This is all in service of Agenda cards, many different win and lose conditions that pop up as the game progresses. Which ones do you stop? Which ones do you go for? The choice is yours.
As for pricing and packaging of this Star Wars Jabba's Palace card game, it is quite conservative and compact. Not including shipping, the game is set for $15. Games can last up to fifteen minutes and is meant for two-to-six players. Finally, it is meant to be completely accessible out of the box. You do not need to know how to play Love Letter to play Jabba's Palace. The game is set to release February 11, 2022.
