Fans of tabletop card games have had plenty to enjoy with Fantasy Flight Games' Marvel Champions. It is a living card game where 1-4 players take on the roles of various heroes of the Marvel universe and work together to fight various threats. It has received consistent support with scenario packs, some featuring more recent street level villains like The Hood, and even massive expansions like the most recent Sinister Motives. Now, another smaller hero pack has been announced featuring the most animated of the web warriors: The Spectacular Spider-Ham.
According to an official post on Fantasy Flight's website, the Spider-Ham Hero Pack will contain the following. First and foremost is the 40 card pre-built deck of Spider-Ham himself, the Looney Tunes-esque hero that fights crime not just with his spider-powers but with cartoon slapstick. This is represented with the hero's toon counter ability. Every single time Spider-Ham takes damage from any source, you place a toon counter on him. You can then spend these counters to activate cards like "I Don't Think So!" and Hogwashed for some retribution. Thankfully, Peter Porker has support cards to keep him in the fight longer like Cartoon Physics to mitigate damage and calling in the aid of Captain Amerikat for some extra toon counters.
But the Spider-Ham Hero Pack doesn't just add cartoon hijinx to Marvel Champions. The pack also includes a bonus modular encounter set that includes a brand new set of villains: The Inheritors. The Inheritors are interdimensional beings that were introduced as part of the Spider-Verse comic event where they began hunting down different versions of Spider-Man across the Marvel multiverse. All seven Inheritors featured in that comic event are in this encounter set, ready to drain your web warriors at the table while forwarding their schemes of interdimensional conquest.
The Spider-Ham Hero Pack for Marvel Champions is currently available for pre-order for $16.99 and is set to release July 15.
