A new board game based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim The Board Game is coming from Modiphius Games, and it's being featured on a brand-new tabletop-specific crowdfunding site called Gamefound. The site will also feature campaigns for a special edition of Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Isle and the upcoming cyberpunk board game Gaijin

The Elder Scrolls V: Skrim The Board Game

Just when you thought you'd bought Skyrim in enough times, Modiphois Games announces The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim The Board Game. The same people who bought you The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms, and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare will be launching a new Skyrim tabletop game through a new tabletop-specific crowdfunding site. The project is part of a new partnership with Modiphius to publish several games through the new service Gamefound.

We don't have many details on the new project except that it will be launching on the site at some point this year. It's not the only game to be making an appearance during 2021, with a campaign for a special edition release of award-winning Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Isle slated to start at some point in March. There will also be other titles such as a Japanese-themed cyberpunk board game Gaijin, and Monster Invasion, a collection of four games from the creators of Cthulhu Wars.

Gamefound - Tabletop-Specific Crowdfunding

Gamefound is being founded by board game developer Awakened Realms, who entered the space due to the massive spike in crowdfunding for tabletop games over the last year. CEO of the company, Marcin Świerkot, said to Polygon that he felt like tabletop games were putting out some of the best campaigns on Kickstarter, and that the site had been slow in changing to provide for the needs of the market.

“I think that the board games are the ones pushing the boundaries to the limits of what is possible [on Kickstarter], they are certainly the most innovative in terms of rewards [...] the most complex for sure. I guess we as board gamers like to make things complex for ourselves.”

Right now you can go and follow the The Elder Scrolls V: Skrim The Board Game page on Gamefound to be notified when the campaign goes live later this year.
