Planet Of The Apes - The Miniatures Board Game

Planet of the Apes: The Miniatures Board Game, the first officially licensed tabletop game set in the Planet of the Apes universe, is being developed and will debut its KickStarter campaign sometime in Spring 2018 according to a press release from developer WYSIWYGames.

On the off chance you've been living under a rock, Planet of the Apes tells the tale of a dystopian future where apes have drastically grown in intelligence, taken over the planet, and subjugated mankind as a slave race. The novel La Planète des Singes by Pierre Boulle was adapted into the iconic 1968 film Planet of the Apes starring Charleton Heston. Four sequels followed within the next decade, and eventually, our furrier genetic brothers made a return to the silver screen with Tim Burton's remake of the same name in 2001. The revived series has had three sequels, and I'm sure that after the fourth one comes out we'll be repeating this whole process sometime around 2035.

The tabletop game is being developed by  Hervé Sagnier, French developer of the tabletop game Z First ImpactPlanet of the Apes: The Miniatures Board Game will showcase teams of apes and humans duking it out in a dystopian future. There will be multiple three-dimensional game boards, dozens of plastic miniatures, and other high-quality components. (There's no official word on bananas.)

Unfortunately, we don't have much else in the way of information about this particular game. Keep an eye on the official website for the upcoming board game to stay apprised of the latest news. The Kickstarter for Planet of the Apes: The Miniatures Board Game will be coming sometime in Spring 2018.
