Games Workshop has released new info on new units coming to Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The fantasy tabletop miniatures game, while overshadowed by its sci-fi counterpart Warhammer 40,000, has received its share of ongoing support. This was laid out last year in a roadmap, which included new battletomes for various armies. Now, Games Workshop has given followers of the Blood God a taste of what they can expect with a preview of new units coming to the Blades of Khorne.

The new Blades of Khorne unit preview

According to a Warhammer-Community post, a new battalion called the Gorechosen is coming to the Blades of Khorne. These hulking brutes of slaughter are usually in groups of eight and move in tandem with their brass-clad leader, goading, stoking, or chanting along the way. These units include the Slaughterpriest invoking divine blessings, and the Aspiring Deathbringer dedicated to rending Hero units limb from limb. There is also the Skullgrinder, whose Tempered By Fury ability improves the Rend characteristic of any nearby Bloodbound Hero unit's melee weapon, and the Bloodstoker which can "encourage" nearby units to run and charge with its Whipped To Fury ability. Finally, there is the Mighty Lord of Khorne, whose Bring Me Their Skull command ability grants a friendly unit the strike-first effect.

If you do take a Gorechosen battalion into battle with Blades of Khorne, you also get a free enhancement. One of the enhancements highlighted is the Lord of the Gorechosen command trait. Place this on a unit and any Gorechosen within 16' gets extra melee attacks. This can pair really well with the units listed for some effective enemy unit massacres. It all depends on how you wish to build your battalion for the battle at hand.

The newest battletome for Blades of Khorne will be available for pre-order on Games Workshop's store page upcoming Saturday.
