Modiphius has announced Fallout Factions: Nuka World. Not to be confused with another Fallout miniatures game produced by the studio, this new miniature game will focus on characters and locations from 2015's Fallout 4 and its far future depiction of the Boston Commonwealth.
What is Fallout Factions: Nuka World?
According to a press release by Modiphius, Fallout Factions: Nuka World is a new player-versus-player competitive skirmish wargame. It is set in the remains of the titular Nuka World amusement park and will center on three different enemy factions: the Operators, the Pack, and the Disciples.
The initial release of Fallout Factions: Nuka World will contain 32mm plastic miniatures for all three factions. In addition to multiple build options, these miniatures will also be compatible for use in Fallout Wasteland Warfare. Furthermore, there will be a full Organized Play system for players to find games at their local shops. They have confirmed that additional factions will be available in future releases.
Despite the miniatures being compatible with Wasteland Warfare, Fallout Factions: Nuka World is its own unique war game. The lead developer is James M. Hewitt, a design veteran when it comes to tabletop miniature games. His design credit spans multiple Games Workshop properties such as Necromunda, Horus Heresy, and Blood Bowl. He has also worked on licensed materials such as the Devil May Cry 5: Bloody Palace, and Hellboy: The Board Game,
Details are scarce as to how Fallout Factions: Nuka World's rules will be different. The press release states that the game will feature a more streamlined resolution system as well as using standard ten-sided dice to resolve attacks and defense. This is meant to bring in those who are new to wargaming while also making a game easier to set up.
