In December 2021 at PAX Unplugged, Isaac Childres announced that high quality miniatures were in production for his complex narrative fantasy board game, Gloomhaven. This was a major announcement since the game's initial release had characters and enemies represented with cardboard punchouts and standees. It was an understandable compromise of production considering the scenarios contained within the game are so complex that one of the most sought after features have been assist apps. Now, Childres and his studio, Cephalofair Games, have announced a Miniatures of Gloomhaven crowdfunding campaign to bring these detailed models to fans and board game enthusiasts alike.

What Is The Miniatures of Gloomhaven Campaign?

The announcement of the Miniatures of Gloomhaven campaign came from Childres' official Twitter account. The tweet contained a link to the crowdfunding campaign page which goes into further detail about the project. Overall, the campaign is about producing high quality plastic miniatures for all enemies, bosses, and summoned creatures across all games in the world of Gloomhaven. This includes Gloomhaven, Forgotten Circles, Jaws of the Lion, and Frosthaven. That is over 500 different miniatures across all four board games.

Where Can I Support The Miniatures of Gloomhaven Campaign?

As of writing, the crowdfunding campaign for Miniatures of Gloomhaven is not live. According to the campaign page, it will be going live in Early 2023 with "many elements" exclusive to Backerkit's recently announced crowdfunding campaign service. This campaign will also include a second printing of the sequel expansion Frosthaven for those that missed the initial campaign on Kickstarter. The campaign page also promotes signing up for a newsletter. The newsletter teases several additional announcements for the Gloomhaven series coming in the future; including an image of several small cardboard boxes with question marks drawn on them. Since Backerkit's new crowdfunding service is recent, it is unknown just what the minimum price for buying into this campaign will be or how versatile its various tiers will be for potential buyers.
