Popular mobile game Kingdom Rush is making even more headway into the realm of tabletop gaming. Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising is a brand-new, standalone tabletop game from Kingdom Rush's creators: Rift In Time. The new game will feature all-new characters and monsters but will follow the same core gameplay as the series's first tabletop game.
Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising
The title Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising gives away some of the new features you'll find in this standalone entry to the series. The core gameplay remains largely unchanged, with players having to put down polyominos to stop enemy hordes from attacking. Still, now they'll also have to contend with a variety of new elemental creatures and effects. As well as beings like 'Leviathan' and 'Elemenance,' there are also environmental effects such as volcanos and tornados to deal with.
Elemental Uprising will also feature 5 new heroes to play as, each with their own different special abilities. These new heroes are integral to dealing with the elemental nasties that will plague you during the course of the game. Probably the best piece of news is that all the heroes from Rift in Time and all its expansions are playable in this new game, and vise versa. So if you've been collecting them all up until this point, your character options will be pretty vast by now.
The folks over at Lucky Duck Games, who are designing Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising, have decided to crowdfund the game using Gamefound, a new platform set up by pledge-fulfilling experts. Gamefound has been around for quite a while to manage pledges on crowdfunding projects, but in October of 2020, they become a full-fledged crowdfunding platform.
Az Drummond of Lucky Duck Games had this to say about their choice of crowdfunding platform:
“We’re really impressed by all the tools that have been created by the team at Gamefound. We have used Gamefound as a pledge manager for six of our games already and have always been delighted by the platform. Now that Gamefound is live as a crowdfunding site also, partnering with them for the launch of Kingdom Rush: Elemental Rising just made sense”.
The game will be live over on Gamefound on February 6th, 2021. You can learn more about the game at the project page here.
