Tabletop fans who've been waiting for the chance to wreak kaiju destruction on unsuspecting cities, your day has come. Smash City is available to buy now from North American game retailers.
In Smash City, players will rampage through an unsuspecting metropolis and battle each other for dominance. The game includes giant dice players can use to knock over three-dimensional buildings (not real ones, sadly). Play revolves around collecting Power Up tokens. You'll get these for successful attacks and for knocking over specific buildings. WizKids says you might even be able to hurl cars at your enemies. If that alone doesn't sell you, then you might be a lost cause. Don't expect to win without a fight, though. Cities will fight back, fielding armies to defend them against you and other players. Each game of Smash City ends when a player reaches their last life point. The player who has collected the most Power Up tokens is the victor. Games support up to 4 players, each of whom can control a unique monster favoring a particular energy type. Monsters include the fiery lava lizard Magmaladon and the poisonous reptile Toxiguana. WizKids reckons games should take around 30 minutes. This one's got some pretty nice artwork and those dice look satisfying as heck to roll. WizKids is a board game developer and publisher based in New Jersey. The studio's other projects include collectible miniatures game HeroClix, dice-building game Dice Masters, and tactical combat miniatures game Attack Wing. Board game-wise, the company is responsible for the likes of Star Trek: Conflick in the Neutral Zone and Warhammer 40,000: Relic.
