Tabletop war gamers have had plenty to enjoy courtesy of Games Workshop. They've been delivering a drip feed of updates and previews of new things to come for their armies in Warhammer 40k from the Tyranids to the Tau. Their more conventional fantasy war game, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, even has a roadmap of ongoing support. But one thing the company loves to do is make multiple announcements of products and projects coming ahead of a major convention. Here is everything that was announced at Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon.

This comprehensive list of announcements from Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon comes from a Warhammer-Community post. It briefly mentions the big draws of the convention being the various competitive Warhammer tournaments as well as the return of the Golden Demon painting competition. The post continues with the announcements which include:

Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon: Necromunda: Ash Wastes Full Look

While the Necromunda: Ash Wastes boxed set was announced at another Warhammer Preview at the Last Vegas Open last year, GW gave us a few more details. As the name suggests, Ash Wastes takes the skirmishes of the game out of the claustrophobic subterranean districts and into the deadly desert outskirts. There are new rules for vehicles and weather to keep combat interesting as well as new outpost terrain. As for the miniature units, you'll be getting House Orlock Ash Wastes Nomads. These are warriors that have survived in the outlands of Necromunda and actively fight by taming and fighting on the back of Dustback Helamites, giant monster fleas. Alternatively, you have units from the House of Iron, which get around in their deadly dune buggies.

Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon: Warhammer Underworlds The Exiled Deep Warband

A new warband was introduced into Warhammer Underworlds. Titled The Exiled Dead, it's a new group of undead hordes commanded by the vampire necromancer called Deintalos The Exiled. But these aren't just corpses brought back with dark magic, but through the horrors of mad science. This is reflected in how the minions in this warband start the game inspired and that the units are conductive fighters. This means certain spells, like the Danse of Deintalos, can overcharge these units as they play for objectives.

Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon: Chaos Knights and Imperial Knights Codex Announced

Moving on to the grim darkness of the far future, brand new products and units were announced for Warhammer 40k. The first are new units coming to the fallen mech wielding Chaos Knight army. These include the War Dog Karnivore, a mech that replaces any and all ranged weaponry in favor of additional blades and close-quarters cutlery, and the Abominant, a juggernaut with long range volkite combusters, an electroscourge for anything that gets close and psyker abilities. These announcements came alongside the confirmation of a brand new codex in the works not just for the Chaos Knights, but their Imperium counterparts: The Imperial Knights. There is no release date at this time.

Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon: New Blood Bowl Team and Age of Sigmar Season of War

Continuing the announcements, Games Workshop announced a new playable team coming to the fantasy football game Blood Bowl. While the game has included everything from Amazons to Orks to Elves, this new team are the Norse. They are exactly what they sound like: a bunch of viking warriors that love to get drunk and then settle the score on the pitch. In fact, they have boars that carry kegs of ale to them during games to help make them play rougher.

As for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Games Workshop has officially announced a new Season of War. Officially titled Season of War: Thondia, it will take armies and battles to the Realm of Beasts, which will include ravenous and deadly creatures that will ravage the battlefield. Accompanying this are a new realmscape box, Thondian Strongpoint, which will include terrain and starting units, and the Season of War: Thondia book which will include new lore and rules for battles set in this part of the Mortal Realms.

Warhammer Preview AdeptiCon: New Edition of Horus Heresy and New Chaos Space Marines

The last of the announcements focused on a certain part of the world of Warhammer 40k. First and foremost, a brand new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy was announced complete with a cinematic trailer. Like before, this edition is based on the 7th edition of Warhammer 40k with some lore-appropriate tweaks and changes as well as new models and vehicles. Finally, for those who side with the blasphemous side of Chaos, the Chaos Space Marines are getting a brand new codex as well as new units. Details are pending.
