Another warband is coming to Warhammer Underworlds. Games Workshop's spin-off of their fantasy war game Warhammer Age of Sigmar has received plenty of ongoing support during its current Gnarlwood season. But with the next expansion, Wyrdwood, on the way, some new material is following as well. But while this new content includes new rules, this latest warband, Domitan's Stormcoven, marks the debut of the Stormcast Heralds to Warhammer Underworlds.
Warhammer Underworlds Domitan's Stormcoven preview
According to the official Warhammer-Community post, Domitan's Stormcoven will bring the arcane might of the Heralds to your game of Warhammer Underworlds. The stormcoven are part of the Knights-Arcanum of the Valedictor Temple, a group of powerful battle-mages dedicated to securing dangerous magical artifacts that pose a threat to the realms. Given that the events of Warhammer Underworlds: Wyrdhollow involves the magical influence of an apprentice of Tzeentch, their presence is very much appreciated.
In keeping with their arcane command of lightning, Domitan's Stormcoven has access to a wide range of storm-themed gambits. These include Blaze of the Heavens which can vaporize enemies within a certain distance of your casters, and Lightning Tether which can deal extra lightning damage to adjacent targets. In addition, the warband has plenty of trinkets, scrolls, and tomes to help them get out of a wide variety of trouble. These include offensive buffs like The Liber Fulminus which can extend the range of spells, to more supportive functions like Scrolls of the Spell-Seeker which lowers the casting value of certain spells.
Lastly, Domitan's Stormcoven utilizes some straightforward objective cards. Scouring Arcs scores a point after you take out an enemy with a spell, and Channel The Storm lets you score whenever you inspire your friendly units. Since Stormcast Eternals have a lot of innate spellcasting and support abilities, this makes victory very direct with this warband.
Warhammer Underworlds: Wyrdhollow will be available for pre-order this weekend.
