The world of JRR Tolkien's Middle-earth is one of the most influential fantasy works in the world. The novels are dense with so much world-building and grand scale they helped influence everything from Dungeons and Dragons to film and TV adaptations. The world of Middle-earth even has its own dedicated TTRPG: The One Ring. Now, courtesy of a limited run of miniatures for Middle-earth: The Strategy Game, certain miniatures will be returning to print.
In an official Warhammer-Community post, Games Workshop announced that older units would be coming to Middle-earth: The Strategy Game to coincide with their Defense of the North supplement. The units in question will focus primarily on the Elves of Mirkwood and Lothlorien, Sauron's Easterlings, as well as the Captains of Dale.
First, there are the Haldir elf units. These are the same warriors that fought alongside the men of Rohan at the Battle of Helm's Deep, complete with their razor sharp swords and expertly crafted bows. In addition to Haldir Elves With Swords, Haldir Elves with Bows, and the Lorien Elf Bowmen units, they will stand alongside the one and only Galadriel Protectress of Lothlorien. Following that are Captains of Dale units, known for fighting in the armies of man.
As for those who side with the Dark Lord Sauron for the fate of Middle-earth, you have some choices as well. First is the Easterling Warband, which features four warriors with hand weapons and shields, eight warriors with pikes and shields, a warrior with a banner, and an Easterling Captain armed with a glaive. Following that are the return of the Moria Goblin Shaman units and boxed sets of Armored Moria Goblins. Said box includes a Goblin Captain with an orc bow, four Moria Goblins with orc bows, six Moria Goblins with hand weapons and shields, and two Moria Goblins with spears.
All of these units for Mddle-earth: The Strategy Game will be available to order sometime this February and will be made to order. If you don't own these already and want to, sign up for the official newsletter for further updates.
