Tabletop publishing giant Asmodee, company behind everything from Ticket To Ride to Arkham Horror, have officially announced that they will be producing Netflix board games. These board games will be based on several acclaimed series that have premiered on the popular streaming service, their (now dwindling) install base spanning over 200 million users across 190 different countries.

What Netflix Board Games Are Being Produced?

According to an official press release, this partnership states that Asmodee will be producing three Netflix board games. Each one of those board games will be based off a popular Netflix series. Those board games are as follows:

  • Ozark: This is a territory control game for 2-5 players where they attempt to amass wealth and power. You choose a faction based off of organizations from the show like Lickety Splitz and the Missouri Belle then vie for money and influence. Whoever hides the most money from the authorities by the end is the winner. The game is being developed by Mixlore (Ramen Fury).
  • Squid Game: This is a 3-6 player game based on the satirical Korean death game series. Each player controls a team of 12 contestants as they participate in six deadly events straight from the show. These include Red Light/ Green Light, Dalgona, Tug of War, Marbles, Glass Bridge, and Squid Game. The first team member to reach the Squid Hat after completing all prior games is the winner. This game is being developed by Mixlore (Ramen Fury).
  • Stranger Things: Attack of the Mindflayer: This is a social deduction game for 4-10 players based on the supernatural thriller series. Players are separated into two groups. One is under the influence of the Mind Flayer, and the other isn't. Can you figure out who you can trust before it is too late? This game is being developed by Repos Production (7 Wonders).

The press release further states that all three of these Netflix board games will feature easy-to-learn gameplay based on the various themes and trappings of each show. This will allow players of all stripes to enjoy an accessible and immersive experience.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Netflix and Walmart for these releases,” said Steve Horvath, Asmodee North America president and head of publishing. “With how much the series have resonated with viewers, our goal was to make these titles accessible to as many fans as possible. Partnering with Walmart was a natural choice to accomplish that.”
