Asmodee Alliance shipping delays cover

Asmodee and Alliance are halting any shipments of their tabletop gaming products. The coronavirus has affected many businesses around the world, and two of the West's biggest tabletop distributors have just joined their ranks.

"A majority of our staff has transitioned to work from home when able," read a statement on Asmodee's website. "At this time, our warehouse remains open to help service any store that is able to continue business. However, we have decided to delay new release items until at least May 1, 2020."

As for Alliance, their situation is a little more uncertain. Their warehouse closed down on March 24, 2020, and any orders that have not already been shipped won't be processed "until further notice". Unlike Asmodee, however, Alliance will continue to take orders and presumably will resume shipments as soon as they are able.

Alliance serves as the exclusive US distributor for Asmodee's products (through June 30th, 2020), which means despite Asmodee having stated before Alliance's lockdown that they would continue shipping older titles from their back catalog, that will not be happening now. This effectively means that many great tabletop games can't be received through these companies. Here are just a few of their most notable products;

  • Settlers of Catan
  • Ticket to Ride
  • Arkham Horror
  • Pandemic
  • Carcassonne
  • Fallout

When will Asmodee and Alliance Resume Shipping?

When each of these companies will resume their shipments highly depends on their local situations. Asmodee North America is located in Minnesota. As for Alliance, their warehouses (which naturally require a physical presence) are located in Texas and Indiana, respectively.

As soon as the situations in Indiana, Minnesota, and Texas are resolved, we're sure to see these companies resume their shipments of tabletop games. Until then, we're going to have to wait it out.
