If you are a fan of fun, happiness and rolling dice you are probably going to enjoy Rattle, Battle, Grab the Loot, designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek and published by Portal Games. During our yearly journey to Gen Con 2015, we got a chance to sit down with Ignacy and talk to them about the production of the game, how it works, and exactly why you should try it out. Take a look at the video below as we speak with Ignacy about Rattle, Battle, Grab the Loot. He excitedly walks us through the various aspects of the game and gives us a quick look at the excellent components of the game, from the bright, colorful ship pieces and custom dice to the really neat metal coins that come included in the game box.

Rattle, Battle, Grab the Loot - Interview

Rattle, Battle, Grab the Loot places each of 2 -5 players in the shoes of a pirate captain in control of their very own vibrant, cartoony pirate ship as well as a small fleet of pirate ships represented by custom dice.  Players will be competing with one another to raid merchant ships for goods, hire crew members with special powers, and customize their pirate ship with unique and wacky items, all in order to come out on top as the richest and most glorious pirate.

The core of Rattle, Battle, Grab the Loot revolves around dropping big handfuls of dice into the game box, which represents the sea, and then playing out battles by moving the dice around, firing cannons, and boarding the merchant ship dice in order to gain money and valuable loot. After playing through a few scenarios on the high seas, the players will get a chance to visit a Port, which gives them the chance to spend their hard-fought loot in order to upgrade their ship, hire crew and appease the Pirate King for fame and glory, aka victory points.
