Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
First up is Croatian terrain builder Tabletop World announcing the start of their annual painting competition. The contest is open until May 5th, and the winners will receive anywhere from 200 EUR to 300 EUR for use on the Tabletop World website. Furthermore, anyone who enters will receive a 20% discount on their next purchase. Complete details are available on the Tabletop World website.
Tabletop publisher Cool Mini or Not has announced the next release wave for Wrath of Kings. The Neritic Horrors for House Hadross and Celestial Host for House Shael Han are scheduled for release this month. The company recently released a short video with game developer Bryan Steele going over the basic functions of both new miniatures.
Privateer Press is in the news against this week with the opening of their new Community Integrated Development forums. In a continuing effort to keep both Warmachine and Hordes balanced, the company has decided to crowdsource their playtesting in order to get a much larger sample size to work with. The announcement also includes an interesting update to the product lines: starting in July 2017, stat cards will be disappearing from model releases. Instead, stat cards will be available from the War Room 2 mobile app along with having the option for a print-on-demand service going online in the coming months.
Corvus Belli has finally acceded to the loud and clamorous wishes of the Infinity player base and released the Fat Yuan-Yuan miniature for their popular tabletop skirmish game. Released as concept art back in 2007 and teased as an April Fool’s joke last year, the player base begged Corvus Belli for months afterward for a Fat Yuan-Yuan miniature. And at last, they have delivered. The limited edition release comes with two miniatures, three badges, a take-out menu from Lo Pan’s Noodle Hut, and a limited edition Chinese-style take-out container to hold it all. The miniature set is currently available for pre-order on the Corvus Belli web store for 29.99 EUR with a release date of April 28th.
And finally, Warcradle Studios released a short preview of the upcoming Magenta Alpha model for Wild West Exodus. The primary feature on display here is the poseable spine-tail. Cast in resin with a metal spine running through it, the spine-tail will be incredibly poseable out of the blister, allowing Watchers players to customize their Alpha models to maximize its feel of speed and lethality on the tabletop. The Magenta Alpha is currently available for pre-order and has a release date of March 24th.
