Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
First up this week is Games Workshop’s follow-up to their large release wave for the newest edition of Warhammer 40K with expanded options for both the Death Guard and Primaris Space Marines. The Imperium will be getting a Primaris Captain, Librarian, and Reiver guerilla operatives in July. The Death Guard will be getting new Plague Marines in plastic along with a separate box of Poxwalkers as well. The Reivers, Plague Marines, and Poxwalkers will come in the company’s Easy to Build form, meaning new players will be able to quickly get their models assembled and ready for battle. Along with these new model releases comes two new starter sets, this time containing both a ready to use battle mat and cardstock terrain along with a limited model selection. The First Strike starter set comes with the minimal amount of material needed to play, including a hard copy Battle Primer in lieu of a complete rulebook. The Know No Fear set contains the same gaming materials as First Strike but includes a full Patrol Detachment as well. The new release wave will be available for pre-order on July 1st with an expected shipping date the following Saturday.
Warcradle Studios has released the next iteration of core rules and stat cards for the second edition beta of Wild West Exodus. This iteration features a reworking of the terrain rules, along with the reworking of a handful of special rules, changes to mounted models, and changes to charge mechanics as well. This week also heralds the release of several new stat cards for the Enlightened, Hex, and Outlaws. Warcradle Studios has also announced that the open beta test will conclude on July 3rd and will no longer be taking feedback on the beta materials after that. The beta rules and cards, however, will remain available online throughout the finalizing of the new edition.
Steamforged Games has announced the release of the Farmer’s Guild starter set for Guild Ball. The team’s set is set to hit the pitch on August 18th. The starter set will contain six players (Grange, Peck, Windle, Bushel, Harrow, and Jackstraw), a ball marker, goal token, a terrain piece, tokens, and health dials for all players. The current MSRP for The Farmer’s Guild: The Honest Land team starter set is £35.00 GBP per the Steamforged Games website.
Corvus Belli posted an article on their website last week focusing on the use of their new hackers in games of Infinity. Using hackers in general can quickly become a mini-game of its own when looking at the options your army has (or doesn’t in the case of Ariadna) available. The addition of the hacker/activists of ALIVE gives players some expanded hacking options and synergies to use while helping the renegades spread the word on just how badly humanity is doing against the Combined Army efforts on Paradiso.
And finally, Privateer Press is looking for a new studio painter. The miniatures will be used for display as well as for promotional material for conventions and No Quarter magazine. The new studio painter will also be writing painting and hobby articles for No Quarter as well. The job posting does not make any mention of appearances on the Privateer Press YouTube or Twitch channels for tutorial videos, however. The complete job listing details are available from the Privateer Press website.
