Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
Games Workshop has announced the pricing for the upcoming Soul Wars boxed set going on pre-order this Saturday via the Warhammer Community website. The price for Soul Wars will be the same as the current Dark Imperium starter set for Warhammer 40K. The Malign Sorcery endless spell set will have the same price as a Start Collecting! set, and the price of the 2018 General’s Handbook will remain the same. So we’re looking at the following prices on Saturday:
- Soul Wars: $160 USD / £95 GBP
- Malign Sorcery: $85 USD / £50 GBP
- General’s Handbook: $35 USD / £20 GBP
Warcradle Studios announced today the company will be holding their monthly Q&A session on June 22nd via the Warcradle Studios Facebook page. The event will have information for all current Warcradle properties (Wild West Exodus, Dystopian Wars, Armoured Clash, Firestorm Armada), and if this Q&A holds true to previous events, expect to see sneak peeks at upcoming releases for all these games. The event is set to begin at 1PM BST on the 22nd. Any major questions should be posted on the event wall on the Facebook page before Wednesday, June 20th at 12pm BST.
Warlord Games has released a new sculpt for the Japanese forces in Konflict ’47. The Battle-Frame Infantry Officer pack contains 3 metal miniatures and are currently available from the Warlord Games web store for $16 USD (excluding shipping). Check your FLGS for local availability and pricing.
Corvus Belli released a statement on Friday announcing the Merovingian Rapid Response Force sectorial army is being pulled from the Infinity catalog indefinitely. Long-time fans of the game will not that the Merovingians have been in an odd place for the last few years, and the promised rework has been pushed back multiple times. The company has confirmed that the current profiles and miniatures will be legal for tournament play, but will not be receiving any new models or updates for the foreseeable future. To commemorate this event, Corvus Belli has released a mission pack containing four separate missions detailing the quick defense and ultimately Phyrric victory against a sneak attack from the Combined Army.
The company also released a studio update video via YouTube outlining the upcoming releases for July. This release wave will contain the Tunguska Jurisdictional Command starter set for the Nomads, new sculpts for the PanOceania Magister Knights, and the last Merovingian miniature for the foreseeable future with a new Chasseurs sculpt.
And finally, Steamforged Games has announced a new Guild Ball team with the Erskiri Wolves. Rather than building a team from the various Guilds, this team is comprised of players from the in-game nation of Erskirad and will feature alternate-sculpt miniatures cast in resin. The release of this new team coincides with the start of the Homeland Cup event showcasing Guild Ball teams built around nationality rather than occupation. The Erskiri Wolves team will only be available to order during a one month window starting on June 19th and ending on July 19th. Steamforged Games will also be streaming the Homeland Cup event via YouTube and Twitch during the event. The Round One pairings have already been released:

- Figo vs Erskirad (Home Nation)
- Castellya vs Valentia
