Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
Games Workshop has been busy this last week pumping out releases and announcements for the latest edition of Warhammer 40K. This week’s pre-orders include the Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought, Primaris Reivers, and Primaris Aggressors miniatures along with the first new full-sized codex for the Space Marines. This week will also see the launch of the Fate of Konor global campaign currently set for July 26th. The global campaign will pit the Forces of Chaos against the Imperium for control of this key system. Complete details are available from the Warhammer Community website.
Not to be outdone, Forge World has announced the upcoming release of Gabriel Angelos, Chapter Master of the Blood Ravens from Dawn of War III. The miniature will be wielding the God-splitter power hammer and is clad in a set of modified Tartaros pattern armor. Gabriel Angelos will also be getting a rules sheet upon release. As of this writing, no release or pre-order date has been given by Forge World.
Privateer Press had a pair of interesting announcements this last week. The company will soon be launching their own subscription box similar to that of Loot Crate. Dubbed MiniCrate, the system will launch with two separate tiers. The month-to-month tier will run $16.99 USD, while the six-month VIP tier will cost $98.99 USD. Both tiers will be receiving an exclusive limited-edition miniature in each shipment, while the VIP tier will include an additional exclusive with their first delivery along with access to special offers from Privateer Press. The first MiniCrate shipments are scheduled for release in October with a subscription deadline of September 19th.
The company has also released the Grymkin faction for Hordes after months of anticipation. The Grymkin Army Box for 2017 is also available, and contains a complete 50 point army, allowing players to jump straight into the game with the newest faction (after building and painting everything, of course). The Grymkin Army Box is currently available from the Privateer Press web store for $199 USD and should be reaching your FLGS shortly.
Boutique miniature studio Raging Heroes has spent the last week teasing their upcoming Kickstarter campaign for their War Stages terrain system. The terrain system is an entirely modular system of cardboard bricks allowing players to quickly and easily build the perfect terrain setup for anything from a simple skirmish match all the way to an apocalyptic battlefield. The system will allow players to build anything from a Gothic cathedral to a ruined cityscape to a starship interior and quickly disassemble it for easy storage afterward. The Kickstarter campaign is currently scheduled to launch this month, so be sure to keep an eye open.

And finally, Hawk Wargames took to Facebook earlier this week to briefly announce the upcoming release of the second edition of Dropzone Commander. The new edition is currently undergoing alpha testing with a closed beta following shortly afterwards through their Hawk Talon program. While specifics on the new edition are spares, the company is currently aiming for a Q4 2017 release, with a solid date expected later this year.
