Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
Forge World has announced two new miniature releases for Warhammer 30K and Blood Bowl respectively. Magistus Amon of the Thousand Sons was announced for fans of Horus Heresy era gaming, while Skaven players will be getting Glart Smashrip as the newest member of the team roster. Both miniatures are cast in resin and are currently available for pre-order with a release date of July 14th.
Games Workshop has also announced the upcoming release of the Open War card deck. The deck contains everything required to set up an Open Play game quickly and easily. The deck contains cards for deployment, objectives, and various small additions to remove any difficulty or indecision that can crop up during Open Play games. The company also released a short video showing how the cards work in quickly creating missions.

Mantic Games has announced the upcoming release of five new resin Kings of War heroes in preparation for the upcoming Edge of the Abyss summer global campaign. Arktal the Clutch Warden, Placoderm Defender Eckter, Mau’Ti-Bu-Su the Abyssal Temptress, Jarvis the Necromancer, and Magnilde the Demon Hunter are currently available for pre-order for £7.99 GBP with an expected release date of July 24th.
Warlord Games has released a big preview of future releases for their alternate history WWII game Konflict ’47. The preview shows off upcoming Allied and German walkers, along with some of the first images for the upcoming Japanese army models as well. The Japanese army will be a mix of traditional samurai motifs and more ingenious mech designs as well. The company will also be offering boot camps to get new players interested in the game on August 12th at the Warlord Games HQ. Full details on the event are available from the Warlord Games website.
And finally, Battlefront Miniatures has announced pre-orders are available for Red Thunder, a Soviet-themed expansion book for their alternate history, Cold-War-gets-hot wargame Team Yankee. Red Thunder will include expanded army options for the Soviets including new armor and infantry options. The book also contains three new scenarios, new background on the Soviets, and a painting guide as well. Battlefront Miniatures has assured Team Yankee players that their current Soviet armies will still be 100% valid with the expansion. Red Thunder is currently available for pre-order for $20 USD from the Battlefront Miniatures web store.
