Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
First up is the major announcement from Games Workshop of the next step in the Warhammer 40,000 narrative with The Gathering Storm: Fall of Cadia. This book is the first in a series of campaign books focusing on the 13th Black Crusade and Abbadon’s efforts to conquer the fortress world. This campaign release will also include a stunning model release in the Triumvirate of the Imperium: Archmagos Belisarius Cawl, Inquisitor Greyfax, and Celestine the Living Saint. The upcoming release also provides the first major update to the Adepta Sororitas line in over a decade, hopefully with more to come.
GCT Studios has released two model previews for Bushido. The Jung Pirates will be getting Duri, the peg-legged pirate, while the Kage Kaze Zoku will have Wamu the novice assassin. Both miniatures will be available for Bushido players during the first week of Feburary.
Raging Heroes has released a set of warbikes for their current Toughest Girls of the Galaxy model line. The release contains three warbikes for the Jailbirds, Kurganova Shock Troops, and Iron Empire. The warbikes also come with multiple heads and arms for each driver, providing for a great deal of customizability for modelers. The company has also announced the pledge manager for their second Kickstarter campaign has been reopened, allowing backers to contribute more money towards their pledge for even more models.
Warlord Games have announced the release of several upgrade kits for Konflict ’47. Rather than release new models that are incredibly similar to their Bolt Action counterparts, Warlord Games have developed several upgrade components to convert Bolt Action models for use in Konflict ’47 games. At the time of this writing, the Tesla turret, ZP turret, and alternate infantry heads for are available from the Warlord Games webstore.
And finally, Mantic Games has released The Walking Dead: Prelude to Woodbury, a smaller starter set aimed at solo players to help teach them the mechanics of the game. The Walking Dead: Prelude to Woodbury focuses on the Governor’s rise to power and his first encounter with Rick and his group. While the core set is not required, all components of the game will be usable in the main game itself. The Walking Dead: Prelude to Woodbury is currently available from the Mantic web store for $39.99 USD.
