Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
Games Workshop has announced this week’s pre-order releases, this time focusing on the Dark Angels. This release wave contains a new codex (both regular and collector’s editions), Dark Angels themed dice, datacards, Primaris upgrade packs, a new character with Primaris Lieutenant Zakariah, and a trio of Primaris infantry units (Hellblasters, Intercessors, and Aggressors). A trio Dark Angels model bundles are also available for pre-order: Hunt The Fallen, Sons of the Lion, and Deathwing Assault. This release wave currently has a street release date of December 16th, making these a nice Christmas gift option.
Privateer Press has announced has announced their next release for Black Anchor Heavy Industries. The Trollkin Hooch Hauler battle engine. Subscribers of No Quarter Prime have already had a look at the rules; if you missed that edition, the stat card is currently available on the official Card Database website. Pre-orders for the Hooch Hauler will open on January 2nd and close on February 2nd. A price for the Hooch Hauler has yet to be released as of this writing.
Warcradle Studios has been rather busy since their acquisition of the Dystopian Wars and Armoured Clash properties from the now-defunct Spartan Games. Studio employees Stuart and Lee held a live Q&A session on Friday via Facebook geared primarily at what changes were coming to the two game settings and how Wild West Exodus will fit in as well. The company has also launched a social media campaign aimed at getting the third edition rulebooks for Dystopian Wars and Armoured Clash when they are finished. Simply post a selfie with your current Dystopian Wars rulebook on either Facebook or Twitter and tag both @warcradlestudios and @dystopianwars to get your free rulebook upon release. Complete registration details and information are available on the Warcradle blog.
Warlord Game has announced a new historical skirmish game set in the waning days of the Roman Empire. Gangs of Rome focuses on bands of criminals and street toughs fighting it out to eventually get your Dominus a seat in the Senate. The game is currently set to launch in early 2018, and pre-orders for the two starter sets are currently available for pre-order. Starter sets focusing on the two gangs will be available at launch (the Odd Guys and the Even Guys) and are available for pre-order now from the Warlord Games web store.
And finally, Zenit Miniatures has released the December wave for their samurai-themed skirmish game Kensei with a decidedly ethereal theme. The Yabusame samurai archers, Kiba Musha Kuroi-te Naginata, Kubikajiri, Kumigashira hero, and Kumigashira hero are currently available for pre-order, along with the Torii Rulebook printed in English. The miniatures are cast in metal and do not currently have a release date published.
