Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week. Apologies for missing last week’s roundup; a minor family emergency kept me occupied all last week.
Games Workshop has opened pre-orders for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Blightwar, the newest boxed game set in the Mortal Realms. Blightwar will focus on the Stormcast Eternals’ war with the forces of Nurgle in the Realm of Life and contains 32 highly detailed miniatures including a brand-new Nurgle Lord and female Stormcast Knight-Zephyros. The game is currently available for pre-order from Games Workshop for $160 USD with a release date of September 2nd.
Corvus Belli has two interesting release announcements this week. First up involves the upcoming Infinity releases for September. This release wave contains the following miniatures:
- PanOceania Locust Clandestine Action Team (Hacker)
- Combined Army Umbra Legates (Spitfire)
- Yu Jing Shikami (Combi Rifle)
- Ariadna Caledonian Volunteers
- Aleph Nagas (MULTI Sniper / Combi Rifle with Monofilament Mines) Re-Pack
- Nomad Hellcats (Hacker / Boarding Shotgun) Re-Pack
- Hassassin Bahram Sectorial Army Starter Pack
The second announcement is the Outrage Mission Pack, a series of non-ITS missions featuring the characters from the recently released Outrage manga written and published by Corvus Belli. The mission pack contains not only a series of 4 missions, but unit profiles for the characters in the Infinity: Outrage model pack.
Mantic Games has announced the third wave of releases for The Walking Dead: All Out War. This release wave contains the Safety Behind Bars expansion containing seven new scenarios involving clearing out the infamous prison, along with boosters for Glenn and Maggie as prison defenders, Michonne, Andrea, Morgan, and Rick. And of course, more walkers. The Roamer booster contains six extra walkers, four weapons, and four new event cards. This release wave is currently available for pre-order from the Mantic Games web store with a release date of September 8th.
Privateer Press has announced the next wave of Grymkin releases for Hordes. This wave features the Dreamer warlock and her phantasms, Twilight Sisters unit, Gorehound and Rattler light warbeast, and Trapperkin solo. The new releases are currently available from the Privateer Press web store and should be hitting FLGS shelves very soon.
And finally, a bit of sad news. Three separate tabletop gaming companies have closed up shop over the last week. On The Lamb Games, Spartan Games, and Tor Gaming each made sudden and surprising announcements regarding the shuttering of their businesses. Most surprising was Spartan Games, as their newest game Firestorm: Strike Force was featured in a previous This Week In Wargaming article just a few short weeks ago. Each company has released a statement regarding their decisions along the fate of their games and current inventory.
