A desk is a pretty hard thing to really review. Does it hold things up? Does it look good? Are you afraid it might break? For most, this is enough. For the Flexispot Comhar EG8, there is so much more to really take in and it does it impeccably.

How Does It Look?

With a shiny all black finish and little under storage, the Flexispot Comhar EG8 can stand in a room without grabbing your eye. With a little customization and its electronic features, it definitely has the ability to stand out but this gives you the best of both worlds. In a minimalistic room, it won't assault the sense but can certainly work as part of a more elaborate setup if you're in the mood.

It has sturdy frames and the weight of it leaves it feeling secure. Even trying to wiggle it can take some effort - making it a great choice for someone who likes to game. You can load it up with items and it holds them all with little pushback.

This weight will make setup a little harder than most but easy to follow instructions and thoughtful design balance out this difficulty. By myself, I managed to set the entire thing up in little time. I would recommend grabbing a friend to avoid any breaks but I got by just fine. I prefer the overall tone and aesthetic of this desk much more than the previous Flexipsot I tried out and it manages to retain just as many great qualities. With its look and design, this is a much more versatile desk.

How Does It Work?

The Flexispot Comhar EG8 Standing Desk is, as the name suggests, a pretty high desk. What makes it so great is its ability to shift quickly and efficiently from standing to seated. I recently sprained my knee and the ability to move it up and down with little effort makes it a lifesaver when I can't apply much pressure to my movement.

Before the injury, I used it almost entirely standing up and it functions perfectly. As long as you have a nearby power source, you just plug it in and type the up and down button on the side to move it around. You can then hold one of the four numbered buttons to remember a certain height, allowing you to shift from memorised modes.

It comes with two USB plugs on the front as well as USB C port, allowing you to charge your phone as you work. It doesn't have the ability to plug in your laptop or PC but this would only be a bonus if it were added. It functions perfectly fine in its current state.

When reviewing this desk, it seems important to frame the way I go about talking about it. This isn't just a desk I want to analyse from a gaming standpoint but a desk to fit into a modern game player's life. The extra USBs, easy to use height functionality and sleek design leave it feeling versatile for any setup. As well as this, a sturdy frame makes gaming while standing up surprisingly viable. Before it arrived, I didn't think I'd be the type to enjoy gaming while standing up but it truly is a lot of fun.

If you can grab yourself a controller to go alongside your PC and a nice window to let some fresh air in, you can get a gaming experience rather different to what you may expect.

It isn't entirely without fault though. It is quite an expensive piece of furniture and, depending on your preferred playstyle, you may not always get the most out of it. If you are just looking to get it set up and not change, you may get your money's worth but you won't be taking advantage of the desk's best feature. The ability to get a standing desk without having to always commit to it is fantastic.

I particularly enjoyed the idea that I could essentially place it however I like and adjust it for any size to fit my setup. If I want to play games, I can choose a bigger height for more casual play or further down for something competitive. If I want to play music or enjoy the breeze, standing up works best. With the Flexispot Comhar EG8, I'm never left without a choice in my setup.

Flexispot Comhar EG8 Standing Desk Review | Verdict

The Flexispot Comhar EG8 is an impressive and sleek looking desk with enough little features to really stand out. With the ability to adjust it for a wide range of heights and a rather understated look, it is one of the most versatile pieces of furniture I own and I can see myself using it for a long time. Although a more stationary gamer may not get the most out of it, someone looking for more than just the one seated experience will get quite a lot with this desk
