Riftmax Theater 4D

When not playing games on the Oculus Rift there are still plenty of other things that you can do to occupy your time, one of these could be the incredible Riftmax Theater 4D. Riftmax Theater 4D is a cinema simulator where you can walk around and meet other rift users and interact with one another. This application was created by Internow Games LLC for the Oculus Rift and works best while also using the Razor Hydra but can also be controlled through normal means. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L49w6soLJ4&w=560&h=315] Riftmax Theater is the next step into a truly virtual world offering an experience where it isn't just you alone in a world but a world with other users having the same experience. When you begin Riftmax you're able to set options like whether you want to join a server or create a server of varying sizes. Once entered you can walk around the lobby or into any of the theaters where you can sit down and watch a video that can be in 2D, 3D or 4D where the theater itself will interact with what's going on such as flooding the cinema with water or having fish and even killer whales present during your viewing experience. If you are using the Razor Hydra in Riftmax Theater 4D then you are able to move your hands around in real life and have them mirrored in Riftmax allowing you to wave at other movie going patrons or even have a lightsaber fight with a passerby. This level of immersion while you are playing Riftmax through the sounds and feel of looking around a real movie theater while seeing other people sharing this digital space shows a future in Oculus Rift and the worlds of VR.

On top of everything the thing that is most impressive about Riftmax Theater is the community events that occur every week. Every Thursday and Friday there are events that the community is invited to visit or join in on such as talk shows that are complete with Rift developers as special guests and Karaoke nights where everyone has to pull out their best microphones and sing their hearts out. If you want to check out more information on their events then you can head to their events page. One of the most exciting prospects about Riftmax Theater 4D personally isn't the project itself but more what more could be added or changed to make the world an even smaller place. The way that phones and programs like skype have been changing the way we interact with the world around us is nothing when compared to the idea that in the future, that could be even closer than ever, we could see and interact with friends and family while not being close in the real world at all.

If you want to check out more about Riftmax Theater 4D or try it out then you can head to their ShareOculus page or their official website for download links. This game can be played with the Razor Hydra and the Oculus Rift, if you don't have access to either of those then Riftmax also works with regular keyboard controls and you can even just use a normal monitor so anyone can try it out.
