After getting rebranded once again last year, it seems this name is good enough to get a second shot as The Game Awards 2015 is just around the corner. Producer Geoff Keighley is again hosting his night of world premiere trailers, musical performances, and of course awards to be handed out to the best of the year.
The Game Awards will be live streamed to almost any device you could possible own so there's no excuse to miss out. Depending on how you watch, you can also get all kinds of bonus content or deals. If you watch on Go90, Verizon's free mobile TV service, then you will be able to see exclusive content. If you watch on Xbox Live, Steam, or PlayStation Network, there will also be Game Award sales unlocked after the show. You can also watch the award show through YouTube, Twitch, and the official website.
Keighley released the following statement on The Game Awards as well as hinting at what steps are being taken to provide an even better show than last year.
2015 has been a blockbuster year for gaming, and now, with the help of go90, we are going to take The Game Awards to the next level. This year we plan to put fans at the center of the show - and give them special opportunities to interact with us by using their gaming consoles, mobile devices and computers.
For those of you who don't remember 2014's Game Awards, there were appearances from Conan O'Brien, Kiefer Sutherland, and Trey Parker as well as the reveals for The Legend of Zelda WiiU and Metal Gear Solid V: Online. This year some of what we can expect has already been confirmed by Keighley.
https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/669292613103587329 As with last year there are some categories for the awards that are voted on by a panel and some categories that are voted by you, the viewers. The Jury is made up of a panel of 30 people from international media.
These are the categories and games that are up for awards voted on by the panel of judges.
