HoYoverse, the creators of Genshin Impact, have revealed their latest title: an urban fantasy action game called Zenless Zone Zero, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic metropolitan city. Players will be able to go on a journey with diverse characters, a futuristic artstyle, and action-combat system that should hopefully satisfy Genshin Impact fans. Players will be placed in the shoes of a "Proxy" in a civilization that's been destroyed by a supernatural disaster known as the "Hollows".
The Hollows appeared out of thin air, growing and creating dimensions where monsters called the "Ethereal" roam. New Eridu is the last urban civilization to survive the apocalypse, and is thriving thanks to technology that can extract valuable resources from the Hollows. Since then, the Hollows have become industralized and monetized under New Eridu's administration, which has led to increasing tensions between "monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics". Throughout all this, players will also discover various factions and uncover a conspiracy.
As a "Proxy", players are a professional that can guide people who want to explore the Hollows. Many want to enter the Hollows for their own reasons, and "Proxies" are extremely valuable to those people. They help people explore the Hollows, battle enemies, achieve their goals, and learn more about them in the process. While fighting, players can take control of multiple characters to unleash their skills and QTE combos. There's also roguelike gameplay mechanics to mess around with.
If this sounds like the bees knees, there's a closed beta sign up available on the official website. For more information on Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, and everything in between, stay tuned to TechRaptor.
