Today Nihon Falcom released a new trailer of their upcoming JRPG Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana.

The trailer is basically a prologue, showing the beginning of the story of the game and explaining how Adol and his friend Dogi get to Felghana. It's not exactly gameplay, but it's still an interesting look at what fans will get when this remaster releases.

In case you're wondering, this is the remaster of the 2005 classic Ys: The Oath in Felghana, which was already a remake for the PlayStation Portable of the venerable Ys III: Wanderers from Ys released all the way back in 1989. So yes, it's a remaster of a remake.

Those who purchase the game will be able to enjoy renewed music and visuals enriched by a fresh coat of paint, but if you're nostalgic, the game will come with options to restore the music from both the PC-8801 version and the X68000 version.

You can check out the trailer below.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana will release for Nintendo Switch in Japan on April 27. A western release has not been announced nor it has been hinted at We'll have to wait and see whether NIS America (which usually localizes Nihon Falcom's games in the west) will pick this up or not.

In the meanwhile, the developer is already working on the next chapter of the Ys series, Ys X: Nordics, which will be released in Japan in 2023 for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. That one comes with interesting new features across the board of combat and exploration, including naval combat, which is certainly interesting. We'll keep an eye on that one and keep you updated as news comes out.
