Xbox has announced that it's teaming up with Oreo for a series of special cookies bearing Xbox logos, as well as for some exciting in-game bonuses. If you pick up a pack of these new Oreo cookies and crack "exclusive cookie combinations", you'll unlock prizes in games like Forza and Halo.

Over on the official Xbox website, Xbox says it's releasing special edition Oreo packs in "22 countries", with the cookies inside bearing iconic Xbox designs including the face buttons and the Xbox logo. There aren't any special Xbox flavors, though, so the creme filling inside the Oreo won't be luminescent green or anything.

Excitingly, Xbox says that there will be "exclusive cookie combinations" to crack, which will be based on some of the most famous cheat codes in history. If you enter these symbols in the correct sequence, you can earn content like armor packs and vehicle skins in titles like Forza Horizon 5Halo Infinite, and Sea of Thieves.

There are new Oreo-themed goodies to unlock in a variety of Xbox games.

As well as in-game goodies, you'll also be entered into a prize draw to win things like "custom Oreo hardware", Xbox consoles, Game Pass memberships, and "a holiday experience for the whole family". I'm not sure what "custom Oreo hardware" means, but I really hope it means you could win an Xbox made of Oreos, if such a thing could ever exist.

The official website for the Xbox Oreo collab tells fans to check back on January 16th, so it's safe to say that's when you'll start seeing Xbox Oreo packs in "participating countries". We'll likely learn more about the mechanics of how this promotion will work in terms of unlocking in-game content closer to that time, too; Xbox mentions "scanning the Oreo Xbox Special Edition cookies", so perhaps you'll have to physically scan the cookies themselves to unlock rewards.

This isn't the first time we've seen Oreo collaborate with gaming entities. Back in 2021, a limited-edition collaboration between Pokemon and Oreo was announced, with the cookies bearing unique designs inspired by the Pokemon franchise. Of course, lest we forget, Xbox has teamed up with other food companies in the past, too, joining forces with companies like Doritos and Mountain Dew to give away consoles and more.
