Microsoft's latest console(s), the Xbox Series X|S, is being delayed worldwide by retailers such as Amazon US, UK, and Canada. For some, this is a day or two of delays, while for some they have been told not to expect their console until the end of the year. As reported by Eurogamer, IGN, and a growing list of accounts on Twitter, this appears to be a worldwide phenomenon as many people who expected to receive their console today will be left disappointed and in the metaphorical cold.
If you pre-ordered an Xbox Series X from Amazon UK and it's not been dispatched yet. Don't expect one today, it won't be happening. "Low stock in fulfilment centres" not like I live in one of the UK's biggest and most commercial boroughs or anything. pic.twitter.com/xBIFDXD2Dt

Apparently for those in Canada (like me, eh?) there's something funky going on in Memphis, TN, meaning that a lot of Canadian Xbox Series X|S are delayed. Who knows when this will all get fixed, but it appears that it's not a blip on the radar. This looks like it's happening to a decent amount of people.
Quick Take
Of course, in the grand scheme of things a day or two (or three) isn't the biggest deal, but to see the shipping delays for Microsoft's newest console(s) is interesting. You'd think it wouldn't be that big of a deal for people who managed to get an order and have that order confirmed, but apparently, it is a big deal. I actually may see a day's worth of delay for my PlayStation 5 order, as I'm supposed to receive it on the 13th instead of the 12th, but that's small potatoes compared to potentially receiving a pre-order on 12/31/2020. Hopefully, everyone receives their pre-orders soon.
