Microsoft has announced the Xbox Games With Gold October 2022 lineup, and although there are only two games on offer this month, they're still titles you might want to check out. One is an open-ended survival and exploration game, while the other is a management sim with a cutesy aesthetic.
Next month is the first month in which Microsoft will stop including Xbox 360 games in its Xbox Games With Gold lineup, so that's why there are only two games up for grabs with the service in October. Still, if you're an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you get these games anyway, so it's not all bad news.
First up, it's Windbound, the ocean-based survival exploration sim that sees you sailing around an open sea to find crafting materials and food so you can stay alive. This one might have stumbled once or twice in terms of its execution, but it's definitely a neat enough concept to give it a try on Xbox Games With Gold. It's available from October 1st to 31st.
Your second Xbox Games With Gold October 2022 title is Bomber Crew Deluxe Edition. You'll need to manage a plane's resources and personnel in order to emerge victorious over enemy gunners. Set during World War II, Bomber Crew nevertheless features a cartoony and cutesy aesthetic, so you won't have to face down the harrowing realities of war. You'll be able to grab this one on October 16th, and you've got til November 15th to download it.
This might not be the strongest lineup in the world, but again, if you're an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, then you get these two games bundled in with your subscription, so it doesn't hurt to give 'em a look, at least. You've still got a day to download Gods Will Fall and Portal 2 from last month's lineup, too, and Double Kick Heroes is available until October 15th, so make sure you grab 'em if you want 'em.
