Microsoft has announced the titles for the June Games With Gold Instant Game Collection as we near the end of May and approach gaming's grand convention. As always, there are four games for the month’s Instant Game Collection, two Xbox One Titles, and two Xbox 360 Titles that will be available via backward compatibility for Xbox One users. There is also a small bonus tossed in this month by Microsoft.
Xbox One June Games With Gold
Speedrunners is the first title that will be available for Xbox One users and will be available June 1 through June 30th. Making its debut on Xbox One, in Speedrunners you are in a footrace against your competitors to win as you run around a track grappling, jumping, firing rockets, and smacking your opponent around as needed to prove you are the hero the city needs. Speedrunners was released on PC back in 2016 and received positive reviews, with it monetizing some with cosmetic DLC. Whether that will be coming to Xbox One is unknown, but it appears it is trying to make sure it has a large enough player base on Xbox by launching as part of games with gold.Watch_Dogs is the second title for Xbox One owners, and it will become available June 16th and be there through July 15th. You take on the role of Aidan Pearce in this game and seek revenge by shooting enemies, and hacking the open world to create advantages and gather information in an open-world experience. Released back in 2014 by Ubisoft, this is your opportunity to play it if you haven't without having to shell out more than your existing gold membership.
As a bonus this month, Xbox One Gold members are getting a free DLC set for the free re-release of Phantom Dust, which is valued at $14.99 throughout the month of June. This multiplayer DLC pack gives you a mix of skills and abilities to take your game online if you want with that title, and perhaps encourage you to give it a shot.
Xbox 360 June Games With Gold
Assassin's Creed III continues to bring Ubisoft's open world to the table, being available June 1-15 on Xbox 360 and via backward compatibility on Xbox One. This is the game where you play as Connor, a Native American caught up in and set during the American Revolution. Like some past titles for this list, it has been remastered for Xbox One but if you haven't bought that and just want to try out the series, this will be there for you.Dragon Age: Origins, on the other hand, hasn't been remastered and will be available June 16-30th. This is a throwback RPG by Bioware that launched the Dragon Age franchise as you play as the Grey Warden of Fereldan on an epic quest to defeat the blight and save the world. Gather your companions and experience this if you haven't before as it is closer to something like Knights of the Old Republic in design than newer Bioware games.

As we close up here, I’d be remiss not to remind you that we are closing in on the end date for some of last month’s games with gold if you want to download them and haven’t. For Xbox One Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will continue to be available through June 15 and for Xbox 360 (and Xbox One via backward compatibility), LEGO Star WArs: The Complete Saga is available through May 30th.
