The Xbox Games With Gold June 2019 has been announced on Xbox Wire, with another lineup of games for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. This month you'll get another four games: EA Sports NHL 19, Rivals of Aether, which run only on the Xbox One, and two others that are available on Xbox 360 as well as Xbox One, via Backward Compatibility, Portal: Still Alive and Earth Defense Force 2017. As usual with the Games With Gold package, each game has a different time limit for subscribers to download before the offer expires. Here’s a rundown over the titles announced and their offer time limits.
- EA Sports NHL 19 ($59.99): Available June 1 to 30 on Xbox One
- Rivals of Aether ($14.99): Available June 16 to July 15 on Xbox One
- Portal: Still Alive ($14.99): Available June 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
- Earth Defense Force 2017 ($14.99): Available June 16 to 30 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
Rivals of Aether is an indie fighting game where you can summon the power of the four elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth to battle your opponents. You'll also get to unravel the mystery of the planet in Story mode, band together with friends in Abyss mode, or test your skills against other players online. It's all about skills and tactics in this frenzied platform fighter.
Portal: Still Alive is the Xbox 360 port of the original Portal by Valve, back when they still made actual games. It includes the original campaign (rather short, but great), plus 14 new bonus test chambers modified from the Portal: The Flash Version MapPack created by We Create Stuff. I'd like to try this if I owned an Xbox.
Earth Defense Force 2017 is what you get if you're looking to murder throngs of giant alien insects. You'll defeat the Ravager armada. You'll use reconnaissance, infantry, and special ops forces. With all manner of weapons and vehicles at your disposal, you'll have to defend Earth.
There's still time to grab a couple of games from May's lineup, namely Marooners and Comic Jumper. You can find more information about the Games With Gold program on the official website.
