Xbox Games With Gold April 2017

Microsoft has announced the titles for the April Games With Gold Instant Game Collection as we near the end of March and come to Spring's first month. As always, there are four games for the month's Instant Game Collection, two Xbox One Titles, and two Xbox 360 Titles that will be available via backward compatibility for Xbox One users.

Xbox One April Games With Gold

Ryse: Son of Rome is the first Xbox One game added to the collection and will be available April 1-30th and brings the Crytek launch title to many users on the system. Originally a launch exclusive for the Xbox One, Ryse: Son of Rome was later released on PC and shows off some of the prettiness of the system with a relatively simple hack and slash spectacle fighter type. Ryse got mixed reviews because of the somewhat shallow combat system, but it is a very pretty game that will come in April as part of your subscription.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 is the second title that will be on Xbox One's list for games with gold and will be available April 16-May 15. The second season of The Walking Dead has the player take control of Clementine as the journey to survive the zombie infested world where the real monsters may very well be the living. With Season 3 slowly releasing, if you missed this entry into the series, this may be a good chance to catch up. You can read our review of The Walking Dead: Season 2 if you want to find out more.

Xbox 360 April Games With Gold

Darksiders is a bit of an odd option to bring as an Xbox 360 games with gold, given that Microsoft is often boasting how it is accompanied by the titles being backward compatibility for Xbox One users. Afterall, Darksiders Warmastered Edition released back in October and remastered the game where you have to take up War's sword and battle angels and demons in a post-apocalyptic Earth. For those though who don't have the remaster, or are on the Xbox 360 it will be available April 1-15.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations continues a trend here, as this title is also on Xbox One already as part of the Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection which released last November. This was the final game to star Ezio in it and takes you through some historical settings like Constantinople in a non-remastered format. Prepare to climb buildings, seek out things, kill people and journey around in the renaissance April 16-30th on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

As we close up here, it'd be remiss not to remind you that we are closing in on the end date for some of last month's games with gold if you want to download them and haven't. For Xbox One Evolve: Ultimate Edition will continue to be available through April 15 and for Xbox 360 (and Xbox One via backward compatibility), Heavy Weapon is available through March 30th.

What do you think of this month's Games with Gold? Do you think that offering games that have been remastered as Xbox 360 Games is a good idea? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
