State of Decay 2: Heartland brings two new story experiences for players to enjoy, each represented by one of two characters. One character is a young black woman and the other character is an older white man. These two different characters are each telling their own stories.
The both of them heard that the person they're looking for is in Trumball Valley, an iconic location from the first State of Decay game. Here is the official description for this newest expansion to State of Decay 2:
State of Decay 2: Heartland is the first story-based content update for State of Decay 2. Explore a new map (Trumbull Valley, from the original State of Decay), battle new plague freaks (including the plague-infected bloater, screamer, feral, and juggernaut), and revisit familiar people and places to see how they’ve been changed by the ongoing apocalypse. The Last Wilkerson has a young woman traveling to Trumbull Valley with her aunt in search of her father. She hasn't seen him in years, but that's the last place that she knows he was at. It turns out that her dad wasn't exactly who she expected and she must reevaluate her life in the midst of an incredibly dangerous area.
As for the other scenario, Searching for Santos has an older ex-con pairing up with a young police officer in search of a "hero". These two unlikely companions are forced to work together and survive in the deadly Trumbull Valley.
Players can expand all sort of new dangers and challenges in the biggest expansion yet. If you'd like to pick up State of Decay 2: Heartland, you won't have to wait very long. Heck, you don't have to wait at all — it's available on the Microsoft right now at a price of $9.99 or your regional equivalent. You can check out its trailer below to see some gameplay in action.
