Today, at Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference the first major look at Psychonauts 2 gameplay was revealed by Doube Fine Productions. After the announcement that Double Fine Productions had been acquired by Xbox Game Studios, with them being the 15th so far, Tim Schafer came on stage to introduce the new gameplay trailer. The gameplay trailer shows off a host of platforming and combat sections that look to include the use of a wide array of psychic abilities for you to use. Psychonauts 2 has been in development for quite some time and this gameplay trailer has been a much-anticipated reveal for E3.

You will be playing as Razputin Aquato, the trained acrobat and extremely powerful psychic, after fully joining the Psychonauts team. The leader of the organization has been acting strange since being kidnapped and it seems a mole is in the teams' midst looking to bring back the evil Maligula from the dead. The game looks to keep with its gameplay roots while updating the looks for modern systems.

As with the original, the various minds that you will explore and adventure through will each have their own unique style and look to them to reflect each individual persons' personality and inner thoughts. The minds that you progress through will be full of creative platforming and fun psychic combat that will always keep things fresh and interesting as you track down the mole within the organization looking to bring it down from within.

Psychonauts 2 will be coming to Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. No specific release date has been given still, but Psychonauts 2 will be coming in 2020 and will be available for Xbox Game Pass at launch when it does.
