At their press conference today Microsoft announced a brand new entry into the Lego Star Wars saga: Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The new game will compile all 9 main films in the series 30+ years of history into a single package, featuring 100's of characters and vehicles from across the Star Wars universe. Skywalker Saga is the latest of three major entries into the Star Wars game universe, alongside Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Vadar Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.

Rumors swirled at the beginning of the year about a new Lego Star Wars title being in development, but no official announcements were made until the Xbox E3 conference today. The new trailer showed off scenes from all 3 trilogies in the film series, including a battle with Darth Maul, the most famous scene from The Empire Strikes Back between Luke and Vadar, and the battle in the snow between Rey and Kylo Ren, all with a smattering of Lego's classic style of zany humor, providing a funny moment featuring Darth Vadar offering luke one of his hands.

The Skywalker Saga seems to combine the two previously released compilations in the Lego Star Wars series, Lego Star Wars, and Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, as well as adding more material from the newest films. Although one game on the new films was released a few years ago, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, no game has thus far been announced or hinted at for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, possibly because this complete collection has been waiting in the wings. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be released at some point during 2020 and will be available on the Xbox Store.
