Next week, November 15th will be the 20th anniversary of the original Xbox console. The Xbox brand is celebrating this milestone with a big Xbox 20th anniversary celebration event that will celebrate some of the best moments in the past 20 years.

Released by Microsoft back in 2001, the Xbox would go on to become the third major competitor in the console market, alongside Sony's PlayStation line and Nintendo's various consoles. Today, it's been phased out by the Xbox One and its newest model, the Xbox Series X|S. However, its legacy hasn't been forgotten, and the Xbox brand will be celebrating 20 years of its console line with an Xbox anniversary event. This event will allow the brand and its fans to reminisce over the last 20 years and think about what the next 20 years will have in store for the console line.

Those who sign up to take part in the Xbox 20th anniversary celebration can play in a trivia contest that'll test the contestants' Xbox knowledge, as well as 20th-anniversary giveaways. In addition, the Xbox Gear shop will be offering special items to celebrate the anniversary when the 15th rolls around. As part of the celebration, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members will get colorful new membership badges that show how long players have been a part of Xbox and will replace the old design. The announcement also encourages fans to share their excitement with the #Xbox20 hashtag and make use of special Xbox 20 Year assets to decorate their social media profile and more. In addition to the big Xbox celebration, the Halo MCC is getting a variety of cosmetics to celebrate its own 20th anniversary, and Adidas is creating an Xbox-themed sneaker.

The Xbox 20th anniversary celebration will be held on November 15th at 1 PM Eastern. You can watch the celebration on Xbox's official YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook channels. If you want to take part in the events, you can sign up here.
