X019 is under way and with it comes a ton of announcements. One new IP announced was West of Dead, a top down shooter that stars a dead gunslinger who just so happens to have a head that is a flaming skull. Ron Perlman provided the voiceover for the trailer and is starring in the game. West of Dead is being developed by Upstream Arcade, the team behind Deadbeat Heroes, a top-down beat 'em up.
Set in the Old West town of Purgatory, Wyoming in 1888. You take on the main character of William Mason, voiced by Perlman. You venture into the Crypt, which has procedurally generated levels as you try to find a figure in black—the only memory Mason has after waking up from death. The world of Purgatory is described as:
A place of gun smoke and darkness, sin and damnation, wendigos and witches. A shifting, chaotic world that takes its form from the memories, culture or beliefs of the souls who pass through.
In particular, The Wendigo is something to look out for and will be a formidable foe you can come across on your journeys into The Crypt. Though, if you claim the bounty on The Wendigo's head, you'll get a reward you have for the whole game.

West of Dead comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2020. When the game launches, it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
