Developer and publisher Team 17 have announced that Worms Rumble will be launching on December 1, 2020, along with an open beta with crossplay on PlayStation 4 and PC releasing on November 6. The latest Worms title will have up to 32 players competing and blowing each other up, and the game will include different modes such as Deathmatch and Squads.
“Revealing the release timing of Worms Rumble is a very special moment for the development team, and we’re thrilled that it’s only a matter of weeks away. We’re very excited to see players take to the arenas, and it’s fantastic that through the PlayStation 4/PC crossplay open beta next month we can give you a taste of what’s to come in December. It’s even more special considering we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series in days after the beta, with Team17’s own 30th anniversary coming up on the 7th December.”
Players will be able to make a Worm of their own with outfits, hats, and skins to customize, as well as the weapons that they will be wielding. Crates on maps will contain weapons like the Bazooka, Assault Rifle, the Holy Hand Grenade, and movement options like Jet Packs and Grapple Guns.
Worms Rumble will have a beta release on November 6 for PlayStation and PC, followed by a full release on December 1, 2020 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can pre-order the game now on Steam for $14.99, and the pre-order will include the New Challenger pack, which has a "cache of exclusive cosmetic items" such as the New Challenger Outfit, Worms Rumble Beanie, Purple Worm Baseball Bat Skin, Purple Worm Skin, Worms Rumble Banner, and the "New Challenger" Title.
