If you are one of the players begging Blizzard to release World of Warcraft Classic soon, you'll be pleased to know that select individuals can play the closed beta starting tomorrow, and the full release launches in August.
WoW Classic's closed beta testing begins tomorrow to select players. The aim of the tests are to stress the servers to assure maximum stability for World of Warcraft Classic's launch. There are three tests total as of right now. The first is from May 22nd to May 23rd. The second will be from June 19th to June 20th. The last one takes place on July 18th through July 19th.
There is no word on if there will be more testing, or if Blizzard will have a open beta. However, soon after these tests is the official launch of World of Warcraft Classic.
World of Warcraft Classic will launch on August 27th, 2019. The servers will roll out sequentially, starting with the Americas (including the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America) begins on August 26th at 3 p.m. Pacific time. The rest of the world, including Europe, Taiwan, Korea, and Oceania can hop into Azeroth of yore on August 27th. Classic's character creator is available a bit before the launch on August 13th.
World of Warcraft Classic is part of the base subscription for the game. If you are already subbed and playing the latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, you can play Classic for no additional price. World of Warcraft Classic is the game before any expansions. Players will be able to level up to 60, experience graphics as they were back in 2004, and explore the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
Be sure to check your inbox for possible invites to the beta. The launch for World of Warcraft Classic is August 27th, 2019 worldwide. For other celebrations of World of Warcraft's 15th anniversary, you may want to check out the new special edition they are releasing.
Quick TakeI am excited about World of Warcraft Classic, but I can't say I'll stick around for long. It was great back in the day, but I remember those days. Everything in Classic took a long time to do. That includes leveling, travel, combat, and dungeons. I think it'll be interesting to see how popular it is. If you are currently subbed to the game but never played this version, it's something you should try at the very least. It'll show you how far we've come.
