After six months of radio silence, Wonderful 101 backers finally received an update on the rewards from the Platinum Games Kickstarter campaign, as well as a sneak peek at the Remastered Luka's Mission DLC.
Nearly three years later, backers of Wonderful 101 still do not have all the rewards that were promised via Kickstarter by Platinum Games. Now, fans are more than understanding of delays, as everyone knows the COVID-19 pandemic caused production issues for even the largest of companies worldwide. With that said, fans who pay to support a game's development still deserve communication, regardless of whether it is good news or bad news. Platinum Games went silent after their last update for six months, and of course, backers of Wonderful 101 were starting to wonder if their rewards would ever come.

An update was posted today to backers that speaks of the process the company is going through with the production of various rewards. Yetee, the company that is managing the Kickstarter campaign for Platinum Games, states,
"We have been working closely with PlatinumGames on conceptualization, development, and final production and are making daily progress towards getting the remaining rewards out the door and into your hands as soon as possible. Several of the rewards have already been completed and are awaiting final fulfillment, while others are still in several stages of production and final revisions as we endeavor to make sure everything will meet your expectations."
The update then goes on to state the varying stages of production each reward has entered, an example being that their Wonderful Pendant is ready to ship to backers and is awaiting fulfillment at the Yetee HQ currently. They state this pendant, along with the Vinyl Record and Acrylic Standee, will ship out on or before January 31, 2023. Following that the next set of rewards will ship out once the Artbook is done, as that, and a number of other rewards, such as the custom controllers, that are going through the final art approval stage and nearing completion.
Along with this update came a link to a YouTube video that provides backers with a sneak peek of the Luka DLC headed our way. The devs do specify that at this time, there is no concrete release date, but that they are hard at work to get the content out to the public.
While this may not be the update backers were waiting for, it is at least an attempt to break the company's recent radio silence and share information on how the process is going. Hopefully, these updates continue in the near future, and fans and backers alike finally receive not only the rewards they await but the title and DLC as well.
