Upcoming augmented reality mobile RPG The Witcher: Monster Slayer has a release date. Spokko's creature-slaying Pokemon Go alternative is launching on July 21st, and if you're an Android user, you can pre-register to get a fun reward prior to launch.
What do we know about The Witcher: Monster Slayer?
The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a mobile RPG based on the Witcher universe. It's being developed by CD Projekt Red subsidiary Spokko and will offer a decidedly more combat-focused take on the AR exploration gameplay featured in games like Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. In the game, you'll explore your surroundings as a Witcher and dispatch iconic monsters from the franchise in exchange for experience points. CD Projekt Red also released a teaser trailer for The Witcher: Monster Slayer's release date announcement, and while it's pretty short, it still offers a fun look at some of the monsters in the game. You can check it out here.

When can you pre-register for The Witcher: Monster Slayer?
If you're playing on Android (sorry, iOS users), you can pre-register for The Witcher: Monster Slayer right now. Doing so will mean that when the game launches and you download it, you'll immediately receive a reward in the form of the Kaer Morhen Steel Sword, which will be instantly added to your inventory. Using the sword will give you a rather nifty 10% experience bonus for every monster you kill, which isn't too shabby.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer launches for Android and iOS on July 21st. It'll be free to download and play and will offer "deep, story-driven adventures" inspired by the Witcher franchise. The game will factor in weather conditions, time of day, and more when spawning monsters, so you'll need to keep track of your environment if you want to prevail. This one looks like it's going to be a must-play for fans of The Witcher hoping for a more hands-on witching experience.
