The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of the most anticipated games of 2014.  In an open letter, CD Projekt Red announced that it has decided to delay the game's release to February 2015.   CD Projekt Red did mention that they could release The Witcher 3 on schedule, however, they felt the extra months of development would be necessary to allow The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to satisfy both their own standards for game development while living up to the expectations of the public.

This is certainly understandable considering the amount of release day problems games have been having in recent times.  Coupled with next generation technology coming out, this is probably a good move.  The extra few months should help CD Projekt Red to leverage some of the new functionality from next generation consoles and produce a much better game overall across all platforms.

You can check out what was said in the letter here if you are interested in reading more.  While it is unfortunate that The Witcher 3 has been delayed, the game is likely to be much more polished and exploit new technology to its fullest meaning a much more enjoyable gaming experience.  How do you feel about The Witcher 3 being delayed?  Does it make you more excited or would you rather just get your hands on it and play it at its original release date?
