It's now official: Geralt of Rivia is coming back at the end of this month. The release date for Blood and Wine, the second (and last) DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been leaked few days ago on Steam. That rumor, now found confirmation as CD Projekt Red officially announced that we'll be able to visit the land of Toissant starting May 31st. And, of course, no announcement would be complete without a teaser trailer.
The trailer shows that Geralt, in his visit to Toissant, the fable-like land of vineyards and errant knights, will have to face a rather vicious vampire-like creature. If you read the books, the setting and a storyline involving a vampire will surely pique your interest in the title. Geralt will most likely have the chance to meet old acquaintances and make new ones as well.
The developers claim that Blood and Wine will add more than 90 new quests to the game, spanning a grand total of 30 hours of fresh gameplay. The additions don't end there, though, as the DLC is going to add a whole package of new features to the game:
There’s also a massive amount of features we’re giving gamers with this expansion - said Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director, CD PROJEKT RED - like a dynamic Point of Interest system, a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home.... And it’s all happening in a new region as big as No Man’s Land in the base game
It looks like Geralt will have some sort of headquarter in Toissant or maybe even a full-fledged house system. No reason to try to guess before the time comes.
A limited edition physical version of Blood and Wine will also be available to purchase and it will include two physical Gwent decks (Northern Realms and Nilfgaard).
