Wingspan Asia, the third expansion to Wingspan, has just been announced for a Q4 2022 release. More information will be revealed in Q4, but until then one bird a month will be revealed in the monthly Stonemaier Games e-newsletter, which is an interesting way to provoke interest in the popular board game.
What is Wingspan?
Wingspan is both a digital and physical board game for 1 to 5 players. Players are bird enthusiasts that are trying to both discover and attract the best birds to their network of wildlife preserves. Each bird brought in will extend a chain of combinations for one of your habitats, with each habitat focusing on a key aspect in the growth of your preserves. There are up to 170 different birds to collect, so players will have to manage them properly.
On the official website, players can receive a preorder launch request via the Wingspan Asia Launch Signup form, which you should fill out even if you're not interested. Why? Well, if you do, Stonemaier Games "will donate $1 to a charitable organization that benefits birds in Asia." Organizations such as BirdLife International, Animals Asia, and Flight are being considered, and Stonemeier Games will probably choose to donate to several different organizations.
Wingspan Asia will be made available both separately and within the Wingspan Nesting Box, which is an organizational/storage box for all Wingspan cards. It's designed for past, present, and future Wingspan content, although future expansions outside of Wingspan Asia haven't been designed yet.
The Nesting Box will be available for preorder in Q4 2022. Once preordered, orders will be fulfilled in fulfillment centers in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. The price will be revealed at a later date.
